crestfallen in white eyes. a sullen grimace evils the day. i wanted to tell you i loved you but when the water came and overtook you, you squirmed, trying to drown. a smart stranger rigged up a rescue. i watched as they pulled a familiar face out of the stream. the color had gone. cheeks puffed and pouting. crouched, frantic to free the air in the lungs. no response. a joke no one knew the punchline to. a kidnapped killer trusts his life to God. promises that he'll reside in the kingdom, forever and ever. leisurely lies all to penetrate a soul, to find a way to persuade a fool.
